    Lead Social Worker

    ROADS Lead Social Worker
    Job Ref: 342-SS182-0920

    Salary: from £38,890 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker to join the Bristol Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service (BSDAS), which is part of Recovery Orientated Alcohol & Drug Services (ROADS). AWPs Bristol Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service [BSDAS] is commissioned to provide the now established Advice & Liaison Service, which is comprised a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and the child and adult lead social worker role.

The role has been operative for approximately 18 months and significant progress has been made in supporting staff in matters relating to safeguarding as well as creating stronger operational and strategic links across the safeguarding landscape in Bristol. We are interested in applicants from experienced social workers with strengths in both child and adult safeguarding who have the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The role is well supported but can be challenging at times and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong personal resilience. As a result, the post holder will be able to continue to shape the role to best support the needs of the ROADS treatment system around safeguarding matters. The main emphasis for the role will be providing supervision and guidance to the ROADS system, including providing training, CPD as well as policy and procedural development both internally and with external stakeholders.

The role provides significant support for ROADS at MARAC. If you enjoy working with those who face the challenge of their substance use, and the complexities that often come with this work, whilst working in an active and changing environment that requires its staff to be flexible, responsive and ultimately caring then we would like to hear from you.

This is an exciting development opportunity for the right candidate. Drug and alcohol experience is desirable but not essential. We are open to applicants wishing to undertake the role part-time role and / or through a job share.
