    Summary

    Rotational Occupational Therapist Band 6 - 37.5hrs/week

We are looking for highly motivated staff to join our therapy team who are driven to deliver high quality, patient / client centred care within the hospital and community.

Croydon health service has gone through some exciting developments in the recent past with a new A and E. 'One Croydon' is the partnership between the local NHS, Croydon Council and Age UK Croydon.

The internal Discharge Team has been expanded and is now part of a wider co-located Integrated Discharge Team. The ACE unit co-locates rapid assessment medical unit, acute care of the elderly clinics and assessment beds, COPD hot clinic and ambulatory care and models MDT working to prevent unnecessary admissions and support back to the community .

This post will provide experience both at Croydon University Hospital and in Croydon Adult Community Occupational Therapy and is an excellent opportunity for professional development. Rotations include General medicine, Orthopaedic & Surgical, Elderly care and Community Occupational Therapy.

We work closely with our clinical partners both in Acute and community on new developments to enhance excellent patient-centred care. We strive to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we treat to ensure they achieve their full potential following a hospital admission or period of illness and to achieve the greatest level of functional independence possible.

Our friendly and supportive environment can provide great opportunities for Continuing Professional Development through our internal training and external courses, helping you to specialise and develop your professional skills using robust supervision and appraisal systems. Alongside this we will support you to develop your people management skills, equipping you for your future careers.

You will be supported by experienced Senior staff throughout the rotations. In an integrated therapy department you will also work closely with Physiotherapists, SALT and social services colleagues.

Our friendly and supportive department provides excellent opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge within a sound framework of regular appraisal and CPD including regular IST.

We are looking for someone who is self-directed and motivated who can work flexibly as an autonomous practitioner sometimes alone or as part of a team who shares our department and vision of delivering excellent integrated care for you and your family when you need it.

You must have previous experience of working within the hospital setting and lone working.

If you are an experienced junior looking for new challenges and to further your skills, this could be the post for you.
