Team Information
Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team (PMST), within In House Services and Estate (IHSE), consists of approximately 115 in house staff and a large number of contractors who maintain the Parliamentary estate comprising 18 buildings including a UNESCO World Heritage site and spans four conservation areas.
Engineers' Control work with PMST providing a 24/7 response to building services related works and emergencies across the Parliamentary Estate. Their duties include operation of all plant and equipment across the estate, manning the helpdesk out of hours, responding to emergencies (such as leaks, power outages and lift entrapments), carrying out fault finding, and repair works on building services infrastructure.
Job Information
The Shift Fitter works within the Engineers Control team providing a 24/7 multiskilled function necessary to quickly attend and resolve a wide range of building services related incidents. The role includes maintenance tasks, tracing and rectifying faults and carrying out lift entrapments release across the Parliamentary Estate.
Responsibilities
Allowances
You will receive a shift allowance of 30% of your basic salary. The allowance is related to the specialist nature of the work and relates to the role not the person. The payment of a 30% Shift Disturbance Allowance is for the contractual commitment to work a 365 day a year, 24 hours a day rotation, inclusive of bank holidays and weekends.
