    Speech and Language Therapist

    We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000.  We are ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons.

    Do you have a passion for working with adults  in acute setting?  We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hard working therapist to join our friendly and supportive team at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. 

    You will predominantly provide a communication and swallowing rehabilitation service to adults who have suffered a stroke on the stroke mixed acute/rehabilitation unit. You will also support patients who present with dementia, other neurological disorders, respiratory, gastro and ENT disorders amongst others on the general medical wards.

    You will work with patients who have communication, voice and swallowing problems in a range of settings in both the acute, rehabilitation, and outpatient setting. 

    You will have access to the on-site Videofluoroscopy and FEES service. We are a dynamic and caring team who will offer you to opportunity to develop your skills in  acute inpatient care, including stroke and dysphagia.  You will be given regular access to CPD opportunities and clinical supervision.

    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
