    We are currently recruiting a Security Supervisor at Avery Hill Campus of the University of Greenwich.

    The role is a full time permanent position working 42 hours on a rota basis covering days and nights.

    To contribute and supervise the efficient and effective day to day running of the security operation.

    To provide a safe and secure environment in support of excellent people care and leaving people with a good impression of the security service.

    To deliver excellent people care, adhering to H&S standards, building compliance and provide a positive experience for all staff, students and visitors to the site.

    Supervision of the security team including distribution of daily rotas, daily briefings/roll call, administration, 1-2-1s, appraisals, staff reports and leave management;

    In addition to your line management, work closely with the Soft Services Manager and Client;

    Assist in leading the security team by fostering team spirit and co-operation, the encouragement of open expression of differing ideas and opinions and ensuring resolution;

    Attend training courses/sessions relating to your scope of duties;

    In conjunction with the GREAT training scheme, take co-responsibility for the induction and training of new starters;

    Assist and support training needs to ensure they are identified, and appropriate training is delivered;

    Act as the first point of call for visitors and contractors entering the site, issuing visitor/contractor passes, and also ensuring visitor/contractor have left the site in accordance with their work permit;

    Communicate with staff, students, visitors and contractors regarding enquiries, incidents and emergencies;

    Conduct periodic equipment checks of life safety systems/equipment such first aid, defib, lift alarms, fire extinguishers and evac chairs;

    Ensure that all equipment provided is fully operational with any issues reported;

    In conjunction with FM, conduct periodic fire and security alarm tests as detailed in the PPMs;

    in accordance with the Assignment Instructions patrol, secure and monitor the premises for any signs of unlawful/unwanted activity;

    Proactively monitor CCTV and other systems within the Gatehouse, taking the appropriate action as detailed in the Assignment Instructions;

    Control, monitor and reconcile the issuing of keys, key codes, access cards as detailed in the Assignment Instructions;

    Open and secure the premises including the enabling and disabling of security alarms as detailed in the Assignment Instructions;

    Respond immediately to any alarm activations and take the appropriate action as detailed in the Assignment Instructions;

    Be the first point of contact for Incident Management, ensuring that incidents are correctly managed and escalated as per the Assignment Instructions;

    Complete an incident report in the event of an incident, focusing on quality and timely reporting;

    Diligently take and hand over every shift ensuring that a full check of the Daily Occurrence and Incident Report books is carried out on each hand over of duty;

    Ensuring that any complaints are reported, dealt with in a professional and timely manner;

    Other day-to-day responsibilities as dictated by circumstances and the needs of the business.

    · SIA Licence holder (Door Supervisor and CCTV)

    · 3-5 years of experience within the Security industry as a Supervisor

    § Have a sound knowledge of Quality Management Systems (Security)

    § Able to use computerised systems in operation within the security section

    § Good understanding of the CCTV, fire and security systems

    § Ability to work under pressure

    · Able to work on own initiative, individually and within a team

    · Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection

    · Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards

    · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    · To be able to write accurate, legible operational logs, security reports and statements.

    Salary: £11.75-£11.84 per year
