    HR Internship

    St Andrew’s Healthcare is a top 20 UK charity that provides specialist care in mental health and learning disability. We are looking for Psychology students who want to be part of transforming the lives of our patients through driving change, supporting best practice and making an impact through our people. Do you have a genuine interest in Human Resources? If so, we want you to bring your fresh ideas, knowledge and enthusiasm to become part of our HR team.

    What you’ll do

    During an 8-week summer internship you will have vital exposure to various HR functions within the Charity, learning how to operate as a HR innovator in a fast paced, collaborative environment, whilst understanding and balancing the commercial needs of the charity. Your intern journey with us will be focused on diving in to a people project, understanding our business, employees, policies and processes which will ultimately support our overall Charity strategy of ensuring patient focused outcomes in everything that we do. The project will give you invaluable experience in connecting what you’ve learnt with practical business application. As well as working alongside experienced HR peers, you will get:

    - Dedicated weekly 1:1 time with your project sponsor who will agree your goals and provide you will quality feedback throughout.
    - Time to attend operational business meetings and learn how to build those all-important Stakeholder relationships
    - The opportunity to learn about mental health and the St Andrew’s journey of transforming lives driven by both clinical and non-clinical professionals. You will be able to understand how the function of HR shapes the Charity via recruitment, employment relations, Diversity & Inclusion, staff engagement and business change.   

    - A template for you to feedback to us and make your recommendations and suggestions for future intern programmes!

    What you’ll need

    - You’ll be a second year student ‘on track’ for a minimum 2.1 degree in Psychology with an interest in Human Resources.
    - Be available for 8 weeks between 15th June 2020 - 7th August 2020
    - A real personal drive to deliver a complex project

    - Have a can-do attitude with excellent networking skills
