The European Commission has established a budget of 515 M euros for the EQUAL Initiative over the period 2001-2006.

The European Social Fund’s budget for the first call for proposals is 212.226.080 euros (35.311.448.546 pts.), according to the budgetary plan of the programming period for 2001 to 2003 and to the budget to implement Action 1 and Action 2 under the programming pillars 1 through 4.

Within a co-ordinated framework between Member States and the European Commission, a budgetary limit between 500.000 euros and 3 M euros has been established for each project. Exceptionally, this limit could be extended up to 5 M euros maximum.
