Self-employment associations are organisations whose purpose is to defend the professional interests of self-employed persons and complementary functions.

Associations may carry out all lawful activities aimed at this purpose. Under no circumstances may they be for profit.
These associations may have different territorial scopes and may be composed of self-employed persons from different sectors and economic activities.
Self-employment associations engage in activities such as institutional representation, the provision of advisory and support services to the self-employed in legal, tax, accounting and labour issues, among others, or the organisation of training and networking activities.
