If you are self-employed and want to hire staff, the steps to follow vary depending on the type of person to be hired:

You have to follow the steps below:

  • The first thing you must do is register as an entrepreneur with Social Security, by accessing the Registration and CCC assignment service through the E-Office or through the Red system.
  • And then, you have to register the person with the Social Security through the RED system, here are two cases:

If it is their first job, you must apply to the Social Security authorities for an affiliation number

If they have already worked before, you have to register them again with Social Security

  • And finally, you have to notify the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) within a maximum period of 10 days by submitting a copy of the employment contract through Contrat@. Click here if you want to see the contract formats.

Self-employed collaborating family member

Your spouse and family members up to and including the second degree of consanguinity, affinity and adoption (in the case of the Special System for Self-Employed Farmers, up to the third degree), who work with you on a regular basis and who do not have the status of employed persons, must be covered by this modality.

To do this, your family member must register with the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Persons of Social Security.

You can hire an employed relative as long as there is no cohabitation, with some exceptions, and you can also benefit from allowances in certain cases, which you can consult on the SEPE website.
