Thanks to financing from the RRF funds, the Special Commissioner for the Social Economy has taken action to support the fulfilment of Objective 349 of Component 23, 'New public policies for a dynamic, resilient, and inclusive labour market,' Investment 6 of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, aimed at young people, within the SPERT of the Social and Care Economy.
Targets higher education students, including those in universities and vocational training, as well as recent graduates.
The purpose of this handbook is to introduce higher education students to the concept of Social Economy and its advantages over other business models.
This approach introduces young people to various forms of Social Economy enterprises that operate across a wide range of economic sectors. These include cooperatives, mutual societies, foundations, and associations that engage in economic activity, as well as labour companies, insertion companies, special social initiative employment centres, fishermen's guilds, agricultural processing companies, social enterprises, and unique entities created by specific regulations.
Additionally, the goal is to communicate the appeal of these entrepreneurial forms to young people in the present circumstances. These companies and entities prioritise people and social purpose over capital (as stated in article 4 of Law 5/2011 on Social Economy) and offer collective and innovative solutions to global challenges such as climate change, inequalities, inclusion, territorial gaps, and access to basic goods and services.
Elaboration of a detailed and innovative methodology for the establishment of cooperative societies in areas at risk of depopulation, specifically targeting women and/or young people.
This methodology aims to explain how the creation of state-level cooperative societies is envisioned in detail. Although the methodology should cover common aspects applicable to all areas in a situation or at risk of depopulation, the goal is to conduct a detailed study of unique elements applicable to specific territories.
Both Order TES/1233/2022, of 5 December, which establishes the regulatory bases and approves the call for applications of the Integral Plan for the Promotion of Social Economy, and Order TES/869/2023, of 22 July, which establishes the regulatory bases for aid for the Integral Plan for the Promotion of Social Economy, stipulate that eligible projects aimed at young people should benefit the introduction of young people into Social Economy activities..
The Spanish Social Economy Hub aims to serve as a model for socialisation to introduce new generations to a different, fairer, more egalitarian, and participatory way of conducting business with the goal, among others, of attracting talent to the social economy.
